The Dark Prince

I know you may not have noticed this, but a little while ago, the pope died. He was an old man who was really at the end of his days, and to be honest, if he was in any other leadership position, everyone would be ignoring him anyway. But, this is catholicism, a dangerous mix of blind following and stubbornness and the pope is the pope and therefore mans link between himself and God.

If I was God, I’d have killed the bastard long ago, for a link between god and earth, he wasn’t really very useful now was he? Aside from the fact that he was clearly being used as a puppet by his various minions, everyone talked about what a great leader he was, what a good job he did, how he wanted the world to be at peace. Except of course that he didn’t actually do anything did he? Come on, tell me one thing that the pope actually did. Well he took a stand against condoms, good on him, nice choice man.

At the end of the day, an old catholic with backwards views of the world is dead and there are lots of idiots mourning the loss as though we have lost a great pioneer of modern history. And then of course you get this feeling for the need of censorship because of respect. Lines like “You have to hand it to the Catholics, they do grieve better than anyone.”, get changed out of respect. I’m not sure who they’re respecting and why, I mean really, we’re talking about a religion founded on cruelty and heirachy, where the hell does respect fit into that? Perhaps the line should be changed to: “You’ve have to hand it to the Catholics, they’re a more stubborn bunch of arseholes than anyone”, because lets face it, they are the worst hypocrites around. I’m glad the pope is dead, maybe now they’ll move on and get someone who isn’t just a puppet figure. But then again, they are catholics, so it seems very unlikely..
